Accessibility statement

BPT is meant to be usable by everyone who works in it, whatever device, input or assistive technology they use.

Our target

BPT aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in both its light and dark themes and on screens as narrow as 320 pixels.

How it is checked

  • Automated checks with axe run in the browser tests of nearly every screen, in light and dark, and must find nothing for a change to ship.
  • Keyboard-only tests work through the process editor, the navigation and the forms.
  • Screens are tested at phone width as well as on the desktop.
  • Motion is turned off for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.

Known limits

  • The process diagram canvas is drawn by a diagram library that screen readers cannot read in full. Every diagram has an outline beside it that describes the same process in words.
  • Maps and charts have text lists beside them with the same facts.
  • Warnings drawn on the diagram are also listed in the editor’s findings panel.
  • The office editor for Word, Excel and PowerPoint files is a separate component; its own accessibility features apply inside it.
